What is a Crane Operator?

A crane operator is responsible for operating a large, heavy steel and iron structure that moves materials or people. They must have strong physical abilities as well as excellent communication and coordination skills in order to operate the crane safely. Crane operators typically wear safety equipment such as helmets, gloves, and goggles to protect them from falls or accidents.

What qualifications are required to become a Crane Operator?

1. A Crane Operator must have a valid license from the state in which they wish to operate.

2. They must be able to lift at least 25 pounds, and preferably 50 or more pounds with proper equipment and training.

3. Crane Operators need good hand-eye coordination and strength as well as excellent balance in order to safely move large pieces of machinery around without falling off or getting injured themselves.

4. Good safety skills are essential for any crane operator, including wearing appropriate protective gear when working with heavy machines; having an escape plan if something goes wrong; being knowledgeable about emergency shutdown procedures; and knowing how to properly use the crane's controls in order not only move but also positioning items on top of each other correctly so that they don't fall off during transport/operation
