What is a Driver?

A driver is someone who operates a vehicle. This can include people who work for companies that provide transportation, such as taxi drivers or truckers, or it can also refer to individuals who own their own vehicles and use them to commute to work.

What qualifications are required to become a Driver?

A driver's license is required to drive a car. A valid driving record, proof of insurance, and a vehicle must be available for the applicant. Applicants must have a clean driving record with no accidents in the last 3 years. The minimum age to apply for a driver’s license is 18 years old. For CDL holders an additional qualification may include having held their CDL for at least 1 year or being currently licensed by another state/province with same class of endorsement as desired in CA
