Job Description

Diploma with minimum 5 years experience in maintenance of fire and gas alarm system preferably with minimax control panel in power and Desalination plant . Knowledge of PTW and acceptor responsibilities. Able to study wiring and logic diagrams and trouble shooting. Knowledge of HSE systems and procedures Able to do other Instrumentation and Electrical maintenance jobs.

What is a Fire Alarm Technician?

A fire alarm technician is a person who installs, maintains and repairs fire alarms. They may also be responsible for responding to fires or other emergencies that might trigger the activation of a fire alarm.

What qualifications are required to become a Fire Alarm Technician?

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required to become a Fire Alarm Technician.

2. Certifications such as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Life Safety Specialist Certification and NFPA 70E are preferred, but not mandatory for most positions within fire alarm companies.

3. Previous experience in the field of fire alarms, preferably with an emergency response team or through volunteer work is desirable while possessing good communication and problem solving skills are essential for success as a technician.
