What qualifications are required to become a Fitness Trainer?

1. A minimum of two years working in a physical fitness setting is required for certification as a Fitness Trainer

2. Certification from an accredited organization such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) is generally required to work as a Fitness Trainer

3. Basic anatomy, physiology, kinesiology and nutrition knowledge are necessary for effective training

4. Demonstrated competence with exercise equipment and techniques must be present in order to train clients effectively

5. Ability to communicate effectively with individuals seeking physical activity advice
