What is a Florist?

A Florist is a person who specializes in the sale of flowers. They may work for a retail establishment, or they may be self-employed. They typically deal with customers directly and often offer custom designs and arrangements.

What qualifications are required to become a Florist?

1. A college degree in floral design or horticulture is generally required, although some states may allow the certification of prior experience as a florist.

2. Experience working with flowers and/or plants is often preferred, but not always necessary.

3. Florists must be able to work independently and handle themselves well under pressure; they need good organizational skills as well as patience and creativity when designing arrangements or making bouquets.

4. Some knowledge about botany or plant physiology may also be helpful for those planning flower displays or selecting specific types of plants for sale (e..g., roses).

5. In order to maintain their license, most Florists undergo continuing education throughout the year including courses on new trends in floral design, plant identification, fall color schemes etc
