What is a Food and Beverage Manager?

A food and beverage manager is responsible for the management of all aspects of a restaurant's food and beverage program. This includes developing menus, organizing staff, overseeing purchasing and logistics, maintaining quality control standards, marketing and public relations efforts, as well as ensuring that customers have a positive experience while dining at their establishment. AFoodandBeverageManager typically oversees multiple departments within the restaurant such as kitchen personnel (chef de partie), waitstaff (server), bartenders/bartending assistants (barmaids) or catering services).
