What qualifications are required to become a Forklift Driver?

The most important qualification for becoming a Forklift Driver is having a valid driver’s license. Other qualifications may include experience operating forklifts, knowledge of safe lifting techniques and procedures, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

What are the skills required to become a Forklift Driver?

1. Knowledge of forklift operation and maintenance procedures

2. Good physical conditioning - must be able to work for extended periods of time in a physically demanding environment

3. Excellent communication skills - needs to be able to effectively communicate with co-workers both verbally and electronically

4. Proven experience operating forklifts safely and efficiently in a commercial setting

5. Forklift certification or equivalent
