A general practitioner (GP) is a doctor who specializes in treating common illnesses and ailments. GPs also provide preventive care, such as screenings for cancer and heart disease.
A General Practitioner is a medical doctor who practices medicine in the community. They have an undergraduate degree in either Medicine or another health-related field and must pass a state licensing exam. They typically work with patients one-on-one, and may also specialize in certain areas of medicine such as cardiology or neurology.
1. Knowledge of the medical sciences including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and pathology.
2. Experience in working with patients from a variety of backgrounds and diagnoses.
3. Effective communication and problem solving skills both orally and in writing.
4. Expertise in diagnosing conditions through testing methods such as X-rays, MRI scanning or blood tests etc..
