What is a Gypsum Carpenter?

A Gypsum Carpenter is a person who specializes in working with gypsum, or plaster of Paris. They may be responsible for installing the material into walls and ceilings, or repairing it if it has been damaged.

What qualifications are required to become a Gypsum Carpenter?

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required to become a gypsum carpenter.

2. Gypsum carpenters must have strong hands and excellent manual dexterity in order to work with gypsum board, plasterboard and other construction materials.

3. Training in the use of hand tools, including an understanding of carpentry principles such as ratios and angles, is essential for success as a gypsum Carpenter.

4.. Gypsy masons who are also certified by The National Board for Certification in Wood Construction (NBCWC) may be eligible to apply for certification from the International Board For Building Officials (IBCO).

5Gypsums are often used together with other types of mortar which can require specific knowledge about typesetting cementitious products

What are the skills required to become a Gypsum Carpenter?
