What is a HR Admin?

A HR Admin is responsible for maintaining employee records, addressing complaints and resolving issues, providing training and development opportunities, developing policies and procedures related to human resources management. Ultimately the goal of a HR admin is to ensure that their organization functions smoothly when it comes to recruitment, retention, compensation and benefits.

What qualifications are required to become a HR Admin?

1. A degree in human resources or a related field is generally required, but not always mandatory.

2. Previous experience managing employee files and personnel databases is often considered an advantage.

3. Familiarity with computer programs such as HRMS or payroll software is also beneficial, as are good communication and organizational skills.

4. Keen understanding of company policy and procedures relating to hiring, firing, compensation and benefits management is necessary for success in this role.

5. Strong problem solving abilities are critical; HR administrators must be able to identify problems quickly – both within their own departmental operations as well as across the organization at large – and then find solutions that will address those issues effectively
