What is a HR Officer?

A human resources officer is responsible for the administration, management and direction of an organization's HR function. This includes developing and implementing policies and procedures related to employee relations, compensation and benefits, harassment prevention/response, labor law compliance and much more. They also work closely with managers in order to ensure that all employees have access to appropriate training programs and development opportunities.

What qualifications are required to become a HR Officer?

A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field. At least three years' experience working within the HR function of an organization. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proven experience managing employees and developing policies/procedures for their benefit. Knowledge of employment law is beneficial but not required.
