A kitchen operations manager is responsible for the smooth running of a kitchen, from start to finish. This includes ensuring that all food and beverage products are delivered on time, properly stored and handled in accordance with safety regulations, and served up piping hot. In addition to overseeing day-to-day tasks, the kitchen operations manager will also take part in planning menus and directing staff.
1. A degree in culinary arts or related field is required.
2. Experience managing a kitchen staff of 10 to 25 people is desired.
3. Strong organizational skills are necessary as the Kitchen Operations Manager oversees daily operations and communication with various departments within the restaurant, such as menu development, procurement, accounting, etcetera.
4 Skilled at budgeting and forecasting expenses is essential for any successful Kitchen Operations Manager since they will be responsible for allocating funds accordingly across different areas of the business - from food expenditures to labor costs; 5 being skilled in time management would also be beneficial given that this position often requires overseeing multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines
