A loan sale is a type of securities transaction in which the issuing company sells newly issued debt or equity to investors. The proceeds from the sale are used to finance either new business ventures or existing businesses.
1. A minimum of two years sales experience is required for the Loan Sales position.
2. Excellent customer service skills are essential, as a loan officer must be able to build relationships with customers and help them understand their loans options.
3. Knowledge of mortgage products and terminology is also important, as a loan officer will need to know about interest rates, terms, and fees associated with different types of mortgages.
4. Prior experience in financial services or lending industry would be beneficial; however this isn’t always necessary for success in the Loan Sales role at an institution such as Barclays Bank USA Inc..
5 . Strong computer literacy – including knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel – is critical because a loan officer will often work with data visualization tools to help clients make informed decisions about their borrowing plans
