A logistics assistant is a person responsible for the efficient movement of goods and materials within an organization. They may work in warehouses, distribution centers, or other areas where shipments are made. The assistant coordinates with various departments to ensure that products reach their destination on time and without incident. They also keep track of inventory levels so that managers can make informed decisions about how to allocate resources.
1. A college degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field is required.
2. Previous experience working with materials and supplies is helpful but not necessary.
3. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for this position.
4. Excellent attention to detail is needed as packages must be tracked from the point of origin to the customer's doorstep!
5 Prior experience working in a warehouse or shipping center would also be beneficial
The skills required to become a Logistics Assistant include excellent organizational and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Additionally, candidates must have experience working with shipping containers and be able to handle heavy lifting.
