A logistics supervisor is responsible for the efficient and effective flow of cargo through a supply chain. They work with management to ensure that all aspects of shipping, from planning to execution are carried out in an organized and timely manner. A key part of their job is ensuring that shipments arrive on time, intact, and at the right price. In addition to managing logistical functions within a company's supply chain, a logistics supervisor may also be involved in marketing or purchasing activities related to goods movement.
A bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field is required. A minimum of 5 years' experience as a supervisor in a shipping/logistics setting is preferred. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for this position.
