A MEP Technician is a technician that specializes in the installation, maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment. They also typically have certification from organizations such as The Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) or American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
1. A degree in engineering or a related field is required.
2. At least two years of experience as an engineer in a technical field are required.
3. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills are necessary to be successful as a MEP Technician.
4. Must be able to work independently and meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality control throughout the project process..
5 The MEP Technician must have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, writing and mathematical abilities
1. Must be able to read, write and understand basic electrical theory
2. Familiarity with common MEP tools and equipment
3. Good problem solving skills
4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Carry out repairs, maintenance and installation and all AC related plant and equipment. • Complete work orders, PPM’s CWA’s as directed, • Select, request, Correct materials from engineering stores, • Organize work in a skilled and professional manner. • Advise supervisor/ colleagues promptly of any technical or any other defects or failures. • Report any unsafe working conditions to senior colleagues, in order to ensure a safe working environment. • Ensure work areas are always kept in a safe and tidy condition. • Read and understand basic schematic/line electrical drawings. • Use Mechanical/electrical test equipment’s and instruments. • Request support and direction as needed. • Familiar and comply with all relevant engineering department policies and procedures. • Any other duties as may reasonably requested by the management. • Must be punctual and adhere to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in different locations
