What is a MIG Welder?

A MIG Welder is a type of welder that uses metal inert gas (MIG) to weld. It has several advantages over other welding processes, including being able to use shorter filler wire and producing less heat than arc welding.

What qualifications are required to become a MIG Welder?

1. A MIG Welder must have a minimum of two years welding experience, including at least 500 hours in the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding process.

2. They must be able to read and understand blueprints or schematics, as well as operate common hand tools like drills and cutters.

3. Must have good eyesight and strong hand-eye coordination in order to properly see the welds while they are being made.

4. Strong physical stamina is also necessary because welders often work long shifts with little rest; standing for extended periods of time, reaching high positions, etc., are all commonplace tasks on a MIG Welding job site!

5. Ability to accurately communicate with other workers during installation or repair projects is essential – both verbally and visually - since many aspects of MIG Welding involve working closely together in cramped quarters under pressure

What are the skills required to become a MIG Welder?

1. Knowledge of welding processes and equipment, including MIG and TIG welders

2. Ability to read blueprints or schematic drawings accurately

3. Good manual dexterity and strong work ethic

4. Experience operating a welder's torch (Mig or TIG) safely

5. Basic knowledge of metalworking
