What is a Mobile Hardware Engineer?

A Mobile Hardware Engineer designs, manufactures and/or oversees the implementation of hardware for mobile devices. They may also work on software projects that interface with or control the device’s sensors and actuators. In addition to designing hardware, a Mobile Hardware Engineer may be responsible for managing teams of engineers who design, build and test mobile devices.

What qualifications are required to become a Mobile Hardware Engineer?

A Mobile Hardware Engineer must have a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. They must also be proficient in C++ and at least one other programming language. Additionally, they should have experience working with microcontrollers and digital signal processors (DSPs). Finally, the engineer should be able to design firmware and software for mobile devices.

What are the skills required to become a Mobile Hardware Engineer?

1. Knowledge of hardware design principles and methodologies

2. Experience with various mobile platforms, including but not limited to android and iOS

3. Familiarity with ARM Cortex-A9 or newer processors

4. Excellent troubleshooting skills, as well as experience repairing devices and understanding how they work mechanically

5. Creative problem solving ability
