What is a MOTOR MECHANIC?

A motor mechanic is someone who specializes in repairing and maintaining motors. They may also work on different parts of a car, such as the engine or transmission. Motor mechanics are typically required to have a certification from an accredited body, such as the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).

What qualifications are required to become a MOTOR MECHANIC?

1. Good mechanical aptitude.

2. Experience working on engines and vehicles of all types.

3. Knowledge of engine repair, maintenance, and overhaul procedures is desirable but not required as long as the mechanic has a good understanding of how machines work in general .

4. Working knowledge of computers used for vehicle diagnostics or tracking systems is also helpful but not mandatory .

5. A valid driver's license with at least 2 years driving experience is usually required
