What is a Network Cable Technician?

A network cable technician is a person who installs, maintains and repairs cables in networks. They may also be responsible for setting up new networks or troubleshooting problems with existing ones.

What qualifications are required to become a Network Cable Technician?

1. A degree in communications or related field is usually required for employment as a network cable technician.

2. Experience working with cables and computer systems is essential, as are good problem-solving skills.

3. Knowledge of bus standards and networking protocols is also necessary, along with the ability to use common tools such as wire strippers and crimpers.

4. Must be able to work independently under pressure while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines; must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal). 5.(A certification from an accredited training program may be beneficial.)
