What is a Office Assistant?

An Office Assistant is a person who assists the office manager in running the day-to-day operations of an organization. They may perform clerical tasks such as filing, creating and maintaining records, or answering phones.

What qualifications are required to become a Office Assistant?

1. A diploma in office administration or a related field is required.

2. Previous experience working as an assistant in a professional setting is preferred, but not necessary.

3. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once efficiently and effectively.

4. Attention to detail is important, as is good organizational skills; assistants will often be responsible for maintaining office supplies and managing calendars/schedule conflicts among co-workers.

5. The Office Assistant position may require some flexibility - being able to work independently while following instructions calmly and respectfully can go a long way!
