A pest control engineer is a professional who specializes in controlling pests. They typically work for businesses that produce food, and their job is to find ways to prevent or remove insects, rodents, and other small animals from damaging products. Pest control engineers may also work on projects related to environmental management or public health protection.
1. A BS in engineering or a related field is required.
2. Experience with pest control and management programs is desired, as well as experience designing and implementing effective pest control strategies.
3. Excellent communication, problem solving, analytical thinking skills are necessary to be successful as a Pest Control Engineer.
4. Knowledge of hazardous materials used in pesticide application is also desirable for many positions within the industry due to the potential for accidental exposure while working。5 . Certification from an accredited program such as ABET may be beneficial
1. Strong math skills including calculus and trigonometry
2. Knowledge of chemical pest control principles
3. Fluent communication and problem solving abilities in both written and verbal formats
