A pest control technician is someone who specializes in controlling pests. They may work for a company that provides pest control services, or they might be self-employed. A typical job duties of a pest control technician include inspecting homes for signs of pests, treating the home with insecticides and/or baits, and following up to make sure the treatment was successful. Pest Control Technicians usually have an associate degree in horticulture or agricultural science.
1. A certification as a pest control technician from an accredited organization is required
2. Previous experience in the field of pest management would be beneficial
3. Knowledge of biological controls and chemical pesticides is essential
4. Solid understanding of how to use common tools such as fume hoods, vacuums and tape measures is necessary
5. Must have good problem solving skills

2. Experience with pest controllers tools and equipment
3. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
4. Valid license or certification, including pesticide safety knowledge
