A pharmacist is a person who helps people take care of their health by providing them with medications and other health-related products. They often work in pharmacies, but can also be found working at hospitals or clinics. Pharmacists are trained to identify potential medical problems and prescribe the best treatment for those problems.
1. A college degree in pharmacy is required.
2. Pharmacists must have a license from the state in which they work.
3. Pharmacists must be able to read and write English well enough to do their job effectively, and understand medical terminology as it relates to drug therapy and pharmacology.
4. Pharmacists must have experience working with patients, managing medications, conducting inventory checks, and writing prescriptions or orders for drugs/medical supplies.<br />5.<br />Pharmacy professionals typically need at least 2 years of full-time pharmaceutical industry employment prior to applying for licensure; some states require 3 years or more of professional experience before granting a license.</p>
