What qualifications are required to become a Pipe Fitter?

1. A Pipe Fitter must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to read, write, and understand basic math concepts.

2. Pipe Fitters must have strong hands and arms as they are responsible for installing and maintaining pipes throughout buildings.

3. Pipemen must be able to move quickly in tight spaces while wearing safety gear including gloves, goggles, ear plugs, hard hats & respiratory masks;

4. They need good problem solving skills as pipe problems can arise unexpectedly which requires quick thinking on their part;

5. Lastly the ability to work under pressure is essential as pipemen often work long hours during peak construction times

What are the skills required to become a Pipe Fitter?

-The ability to read and understand blueprints or drawings of pipe systems

-Good organizational skills, able to keep track of multiple tasks simultaneously

-Ability to use hand tools, such as saws and drills
