A piping fabricator is a tradesperson who constructs and installs pipework, such as plumbing, heating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. They use various machines to cut metal, plastic or other materials into the correct shape for pipes.
1. A piping fabricator must have a degree in engineering or an equivalent field.
2. Piping fabricators must be skilled at designing and constructing pipes, fittings, valves, tanks, and other equipment used in the oilfield industry.
3. Piping fabricators must be able to work with a variety of materials including metals such as brass and steel; plastics; fiberglass; composites; and glass-reinforced plastic (GRP).
4. pipelayers require specialized training that includes learning how to read blueprints and use computers for drafting purposes as well as welding skills .
5. Piping Fabrication certification is typically required by employers before hiring applicants for these positions
