What is a Plaster Mason?

A plaster mason is a skilled tradesman who creates walls and ceilings using a mix of lime, gypsum, sand and water.

What qualifications are required to become a Plaster Mason?

1. A person must have good hand-eye coordination and a strong work ethic.

2. He or she should be able to read blueprints and understand how plaster is made.

3. Knowledge of construction tools, such as saws, chisels and hammers, is essential for this job.

4.. Experience in the building trade is preferred but not required; apprenticeship programs are available that can help train new plasterers properly. 5 Plaster masons often need skills in math (such as calculating angles) because they will need to know the dimensions of walls before beginning any repairs or restoration projects

What are the skills required to become a Plaster Mason?

1. Strength and Dexterity - Plaster masons must be strong enough to lift heavy objects and nimble enough to move around quickly in the small spaces required for plastering.

2. Eye Sight - Plaster masons work with small pieces of material that can easily get hidden underfoot, so good eyesight is essential for avoiding injuries and accidents.

3. Hearing - Because plaster dust is very dusty, a plasterer needs excellent hearing so they can stay aware of their surroundings at all times and avoid dangerous collisions with other workers or obstacles in the workplace.

4 . manual dexterity & coordination- as well as hand eye co-ordination skills needed when using various tools like chisels , hammers etc., working with water sprays, air jets etc..

5 . concentration – Being surrounded by loud noises while carrying out delicate tasks can be challenging, requiring someone who has the ability to focus on what they are doing
