What is a Plaster Mason?

A plaster mason is someone who practices the art of creating walls and ceilings using a mixture of lime, sand, water and clay.

What qualifications are required to become a Plaster Mason?

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required to become a plaster mason.

2. There are no specific educational requirements for becoming a plaster mason, but many states require that applicants have passed an apprenticeship program and obtain at least the journeyman level in their trade before they can be licensed to practice.

3. In order to be able to work with cement and other construction materials, most candidates will need some form of hand-eye coordination and strength in both hands; furthermore, it is often helpful if someone has previous experience working with clay or plaster products.

4. Some basic tools--including saws, chisels, hammers, screwdrivers--are usually necessary for training as a plaster mason; additionally,.often employers will provide tool rental/purchase agreements during employment periods so employees do not have having bring any additional equipment on site when starting out (although always check beforehand!). Finally,,many plasterers wear safety glasses at all times while working since splashes from various chemicals can cause severe eye damage..
