They work with different departments to find the best deals on products and services, making sure that all costs are accounted for in order to stay competitive. Purchase executives also help determine which products or services should be purchased, determining what needs will be met by those items and how much money should be allocated towards each one.
A Purchase Executive should have a degree in business or accounting, experience working within the purchasing department of a company, excellent communication and customer service skills, knowledge of procurement software.
The skills required to become a Purchase Executive include strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, excellent customer service skills, knowledge of purchasing procedures and product specifications. Additionally, the position may require proficiency in computer software programs such as Microsoft Word or Excel.
