Excellent problem solving abilities - When faced with tough estimating challenges – such as calculating the amount of lumber needed for a particular project –you'll need excellent problem-solving capabilities in order to find an appropriate solution. This may involve utilizing basic geometry principles or understanding various factors that can affect costs (like shipping requirements). If you can't solve problems effectively on your own, then chances are you won’t enjoy working as a quantity surveyor very long!

4 . Good communication & organizational skills – Being effective when communicating with clients/staff members involved in construction projects is essential for success as a quantiy surveyor . It's also helpful if you're able stay organized , so that all relevant data relating to each project is easily accessible when necessary .
