What is a Quantity Surveyor?

A quantity surveyor is an engineer who helps determine the best way to use a material or product in order to create something specific. This can involve everything from figuring out how much lumber needs to be bought for a new construction project, to determining how many boxes of cereal should be produced on a given day.

What qualifications are required to become a Quantity Surveyor?

1) A bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field is required.

2) Two years of experience as an engineer or architect may be accepted for the certification exam.

3) Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities are necessary to become a Quantity Surveyor.

4) Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also important because quantity surveying involves working with teams of engineers, architects, contractors and other professionals.

5) Quality control measures and procedures must be followed while performing surveys to ensure accurate data collection
