A Restaurant Supervisor is responsible for the overall operation and profitability of a restaurant. They are in charge of hiring, training, disciplining employees, planning menus and serving food to customers.
1. Previous restaurant experience is helpful but not required.
2. Strong organizational skills are essential, as a supervisor must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and make quick decisions.
3. Excellent communication and customer service abilities are important, as the position often requires interacting with customers directly or supervising staff who do so on a regular basis.
4 Being detail-oriented and possessing excellent problem solving skills are also necessary traits for this role, as restaurants can be highly chaotic environments at times (particularly in busy times).
5 A passion for food is always nice but isn't mandatory - many successful supervisors have backgrounds that don’t necessarily relate to cooking/serving food such as marketing or finance
