What is a Rope Access Supervisor?

A rope access supervisor is a person responsible for ensuring that workers have the appropriate safety equipment and knowledge to safely work in or near ropes. They may be stationed at work sites where there are potential hazards associated with working with ropes, or they may be used as part of an overall safe-working program. Rope access supervisors typically should have a certification from the National Association of Professional Ropes Access Specialists (NAPRA).

What qualifications are required to become a Rope Access Supervisor?

1. A Rope Access Supervisor should have at least 2 years of experience working in a rope access position.

2. They should be able to understand and follow ropesafety guidelines thoroughly, both written and in person training is recommended.

3. Supervision skills are essential, as they must be able to keep track of workers while performing their duties safely and efficiently.

4 They must also possess strong communication abilities, as supervisors need to stay informed about the work being done in order for it to run smoothly-verbal or written reports are typically required from them on an almost daily basis during rope access operations specifically..

5 Being familiar with various heights/angles that can be encountered when accessing objects via ropes is beneficial
