What is a Steel Fabricator?

A steel fabricator is someone who specializes in the production of metal structures, such as bridges and skyscrapers. They use various welding techniques to join pieces of metal together into a structural frame, and may also be responsible for installing any necessary hardware or fixtures.

What qualifications are required to become a Steel Fabricator?

A. A high school diploma or equivalent

B. Vocational training in steel fabrication

C. Experience fabricating steel products

D. The ability to read and understand welding schematics

E. The willingness to learn new techniques

What are the skills required to become a Steel Fabricator?

1. Strong math skills -Steel fabricators need to be able to use basic algebra and geometry in order to understand how metals are shaped and fabricated into products.

2. Advanced welding skills- Fabricators must have proficiency in Arc Welding, MIG Welder, Stick welder or TIGWelders as they will be required for many steel fabrication jobs.

3. Good problem solving abilities- Steel fabricators need the ability to identify problems quickly and come up with solutions that meet specific design specifications..

4. Excellent attention to detail- As a professional metal craftsman you must always pay close attention not only your work but also the welds around it so flaws do not creep through during production later on.-

5 . Experience working with various types of metal--Many successful steel fabricators started out by learning how different types of metals were cut, formed, heated and worked together before moving onto more advanced fabrication techniques
