What is a Stone Cladding Mason?

A stone cladding mason is someone who installs, repairs, or replaces exterior stonework such as granite and marble. They may also be called a stone contractor, masonry worker, or stonemason. Stone cladding Masons typically work with natural stones like granite and marble which are not always easy to cut or carve.

What qualifications are required to become a Stone Cladding Mason?

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required to become a Stone Cladding Mason.

2. Basic safety training in the installation and use of claddings is mandatory for all masons working with stone, including Stone Cladding Masons.

3.. ApprenticeStoneCladMason certification from The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) is highly recommended but not always required by some employers prior to hire.

4.. Skill in using hand tools such as chisels, saws, hammers and jigs are necessary for most stone masonry jobs; however an ability to operate power tools may be advantageous depending on the type of job being done.

5.. Knowledge base within specific trade disciplines like architectural millwork or carving should also be considered when assessing qualifications for certain positions within the stone masonry field
