A therapist is a licensed professional who provides psychological services to individuals and families. They typically work with clients one-on-one, but may also participate in group sessions. Therapists use a variety of techniques to help their patients feel better emotionally and psychologically.
1. A college degree in psychology, psychiatry, or social work
2. Two years of experience as a therapist
3. Registration with the state board of therapeutic services
4. Current license to practice from your state's board of therapeutic services
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
1. Knowledge of human behavior and its underlying causes
2. Excellent communication, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
3. Strong work ethic with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
4. Proven experience working with clients from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
5. Experience providing psychotherapy or counselling services
