What is a Tiles Mason?

A tiles mason is a worker who installs and repairs tile flooring. They use their hands and feet to move the heavy, square tiles around in order to create a smooth surface.

What qualifications are required to become a Tiles Mason?

1. A minimum of 2 years experience as a mason is required to become a tilesmith.

2. Must have an understanding of how mortar and stone work together to create structures.

3. Must be able to read blueprint drawings, understand engineering specifications, and produce accurate blueprints/models using computer-aided design software programs such as AutoCAD or Inkscape (or another 3D modeling program).

4. Must possess exceptional precision in hand tool use, including chisels, saws, hammers & nails; must also be comfortable working with power tools such as drill presses and belt sanders –tile installation requires the ability to lift heavy objects frequently!

5. Basic carpentry skills are beneficial but not mandatory for tile Masonry - many experienced professionals do not have any formal training beyond high school education level
