What is a Waitress?

A waitress is someone who waits on customers in a restaurant. They may carry plates of food or drinks to tables, clear away dishes, and refill water glasses. Waitresses usually have uniforms and must be polite and friendly to their guests.

What are the skills required to become a Waitress?

1. Patience and good customer service skills are essential for a waitress. It takes time to greet customers, take their orders, and serve them food/drinks.

2. Waitresses must be able to handle themselves quickly in an emergency situation - such as if there is a disturbance at the table or someone has had too much to drink.

3. Waiter's guides recommend that waitstaff keep up cleanliness standards - including keeping hands free of dirt/grime and avoiding contact with food surfaces which could lead to cross-contamination (e..g., wearing gloves while handling salad).

4. A valid driver's license is also recommended for those who wish pursue careers as waiters/waitresses; many restaurants require servers to have access to vehicles in case they are summoned elsewhere on behalf of the establishment (for example, when another restaurant becomes overcrowded).
