A website developer is someone who creates and maintains websites. They might design the entire site from scratch, or they may work on bits and pieces with a team of other professionals to create an online presence for a company, organization, or individual. Website developers typically have degrees in computer science or related fields and are skilled at coding languages like HTML5 and CSS3.
1. A college degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
2. Proven experience coding websites is preferred, but not necessary.
3. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills are essential for this career path as website development can be challenging and requires constant collaboration with others on the team (such as designers, marketing specialists, etc).
4. Familiarity with popular web development frameworks such as HTML/CSS/Javascript is a plus since most website developers use these tools to build their sites; however, it isn't mandatory to have knowledge of them if you don't want to invest time learning them upfront.
