What is a AC Ductman?

A ductman is a person who installs, repairs and maintains air conditioning systems. They are responsible for ensuring that the indoor environment in buildings remains at an acceptable temperature, regardless of fluctuations in weather conditions outside. Ductmen may also be called upon to restore AC units following malfunctions or natural disasters.

What qualifications are required to become a AC Ductman?

A. A minimum of two years experience in the installation, maintenance and repair of duct systems is required.

B. AC Ductman certification from an accredited organization such as NAIDU or CSA is desirable.

C. Experience working with computers and software programs that measure air flow performance is preferred, but not necessary for employment as a AC Ductman.

D. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity are important skills for this occupation due to the tight quarters often found in ductwork installations and repairs..

What are the skills required to become a AC Ductman?

-Strong communication, organizational and problem solving skills.

-Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

-Thorough knowledge of AC systems and how they operate.

-Experience working with tools such as meters, gauges and diagnostic equipment.
