A technician with the power to fix electrical problems in homes and businesses. They may work for a utility company, or be self-employed. A AC Technician typically has experience working on both residential and commercial properties. Some common skills include wiring diagrams, troubleshooting equipment, maintainance of systems, and repair/installation of air conditioning units
A. A high school diploma or equivalent is required
B. Minimum of two years experience in an AC system area is necessary
C. Certification as a certified technician in air conditioning (CTAI-CC) from the National Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Association (NACRA) may be required
D. Knowledge of refrigerant types, systems, and applications important to HVAC are desirable
E. Excellent problem solving skills
-Basic knowledge of AC systems and components
-Good problem solving skills
-Strong technical ability with a focus on air conditioning and heating
-Proven experience repairing or maintaining AC systems
