What is a Block Mason?

A Block Mason is a member of the Freemasons who has taken an oath to never reveal any secrets or rituals within the fraternity.

What qualifications are required to become a Block Mason?

-The candidate must be a Master Mason.

-Must have had block masonry experience in some form, preferably as an apprentice or journeyman.

-Must demonstrate competency in using the basic tools of the trade (trowel, square, level).

-Must be able to read and write English well enough to understand instructions from the Craftsmen's Association.

What are the skills required to become a Block Mason?

1. Knowledge of block masonry techniques and tools.

2. Excellent attention to detail and precision when constructing a brick or stone veneer.

3. Skillful use of hand chisels, saws, routers, punches and other construction equipment for shaping blocks into finished products.

4. Strong work ethic with the ability to stay focused on tasks throughout long periods of time without rest or breaks .
