What is a Boiler Operator?

A boiler operator is responsible for ensuring that the boilers in a plant are functioning properly. They monitor the pressure and temperature of the water, make sure valves are open and closed as needed, adjust fires when necessary, and keep an eye on safety procedures.

What qualifications are required to become a Boiler Operator?

A boiler operator must have a degree in engineering or related field, experience operating boilers and knowledge of safety precautions. They also need good problem-solving skills and excellent communication abilities.

What are the skills required to become a Boiler Operator?

1. Ability to read and understand blueprints or technical documents related to boilers and steam generation systems.

2. Experience working with valves, gauges, meters, etc., in a manufacturing environment.

3. Knowledge of safety procedures for boiler operations including fire prevention and emergency response plans.

4. Basic math skills (inclination towards mathematics is helpful).

5. Mechanical ability – good hand-eye coordination along with the stamina necessary to work long hours under pressure
