What is a Boom Loader Operator?

A Boom Loader Operator is responsible for safely loading and unloading large cargo loads from semi-trucks onto or off of freight trucks. They must be able to stay calm under pressure, complete quick calculations in their head, and make fast decisions on how to move the load forward.

What qualifications are required to become a Boom Loader Operator?

1. A boom loader operator must be able to operate a heavy machine safely and efficiently.

2. Boom loaders require significant amounts of strength and stamina in order to work for long periods of time.

3. They also need good hand-eye coordination, as the machines can be quite fast moving and dangerous when operated incorrectly or without caution.

4. Prior experience with working with heavy machinery is often required, as well as knowledge about how equipment works specifically related to boomsliders (elements like hydraulics, engines etc.). 5 Last but not least, being properly trained on safe operating procedures is essential - many injuries occur while operators are unaware of potential hazards present on their job site
