What is a Building Electrician?

A building electrician is a professional who installs, repairs and maintains electrical systems in buildings. They may work for an engineering or construction company, or be self-employed. A building electrician typically has a degree in electrical engineering or related field and several years of experience working with electricity. They are responsible for ensuring that all the wiring inside the building is properly installed, tested and maintained. Building Electricians also ensure that any lighting fixtures are correctly wired to power sources and can troubleshoot problems should they arise

What qualifications are required to become a Building Electrician?

A person who wants to become a building electrician must have an appropriate level of education and experience. They will need to be able to read blueprints, know how electrical systems work, and have the ability to troubleshoot problems. Additionally, they will likely need certification from one or more organizations such as the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).
