A CAD/CAM engineer designs and produces computer-aided design (CAD) or computer-assisted manufacturing (CAM) software. They may also work on the physical production of parts using these tools. A CAD/ CAM engineer typically has a college degree in engineering, with some experience working in an industrial setting.
1. A degree in engineering is required.
2. Experience working with CAD/CAM software is a must.
3. Familiarity with 3D printing and prototyping tools is desirable.
4. Advanced knowledge of physics and math are helpful but not necessary for the role of CAD/CAM Engineer.
5.. Excellent problem solving skills are essential
- Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Proven experience with CAD software programs such as AutoCAD or Solidworks
- Fluent in technical communication, both written and orally
