What is a Gynaecologist?

A Gynaecologist is a healthcare professional who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of women’s reproductive health problems. They may also provide general care for women during their menstrual cycle, including contraception advice and treatments for common issues like cramps. A Gynaecologist may also prescribe birth control pills, intrauterine devices (IUDs), or other forms of hormonal contraception to prevent pregnancy.

What qualifications are required to become a Gynaecologist?

A degree in gynaecology is required. Additional qualifications may include experience working as a doctor or nurse, certification from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ABOG), and membership in the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC).

What are the skills required to become a Gynaecologist?
