A Gypsum Carpenter is a person who specializes in working with gypsum, which is a type of soft rock. Gypsums are used to make many different products, including wallboard and plaster.
1. Experience as a carpenter is required
2. Certification from an accredited certification body such as the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors (NBPPV) or American Dry Rot Prevention Association (ADRPA) is desirable
3. Knowledge of gypsum construction materials and methods is essential
4. Hands-on experience with gypsum products, including drywall compound, plasterboard, lath and tile are valuable traits
5. The ability to read blueprints and work independently is also beneficial
-The ability to read and understand blueprints
-The ability to cut, glue and nail materials together correctly
