A Gypsum Carpenter is someone who specializes in repairing and constructing gypsum board.
-A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
-Two years experience as a carpenter in the building trades.
-Good hand eye coordination and attention to detail.
-Thorough knowledge of Gypsum construction methods including laminating, taping, and drywall installation.
The skills required to become a Gypsum Carpenter include:
-Good hand-eye coordination
-Ability to read and follow detailed blueprints or plans
-Knowledge of construction materials, including gypsum boards, nails, screws and adhesives

Frame, hang, and finish gypsum boards to achieve smooth and seamless surfaces. Perform quality checks to ensure that gypsum installations meet industry standards and project requirements. Interpret blueprints, sketches, and drawings to accurately plan and execute gypsum carpentry tasks. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols at all times.
