A Gypsum Carpenter is a tradesman who specializes in working with gypsum, which is an type of mineral that can be used to create wallboard and other types of construction materials.
1. A minimum of two years' experience as a carpenter is required to become a Gypsum Carpenter.
2. Must be able to read and understand blueprints and specifications related to construction projects.
3. Possesses strong math skills, including working with fractions, square roots, etc., in order to measure sizes accurately and precisely during construction projects.
4. Highly skilled at using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers, routers; has good problem-solving abilities when completing construction tasks onsite or in the workshop environment (i e.: determining how much material needs to be cut/ shaped).
5. Excellent communication skills both written & oral - necessary for liaising with clients & co-workers while performing duties on site

We are seeking a skilled and experienced gypsum carpenter to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in installing and finishing gypsum-based materials in a commercial or residential construction setting. Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints or plans to determine the layout and dimensions of the structure. Measure and cut gypsum boards to fit the specific dimensions of the walls, ceilings, or partitions. Install insulation and other materials as needed before applying the gypsum boards. Finish and smooth the surface of the gypsum boards using taping, mudding, and sanding techniques. Install trim, moldings, or other decorative features to complete the finished look. Work effectively as part of a team to ensure projects are completed on time and to industry standards. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure that work is completed safely. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years of experience in installing and finishing gypsum-based materials in a commercial or residential construction setting. Excellent technical skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret blueprints or plans. Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively as part of a team. Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations. Transportation and accomodation provided. Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional weekends.
